For reactive or aggressive dogs
We know that not every dog MUST enjoy being “social” or get along with others in groups or with new dogs.
So for our guests who aren't comfortable around other dogs or new dogs, we have our reACTIVATE program!
This program provides engaging and enriching environments and activities for dogs without putting them in situations that compromise their safety or push their comfort.
As with all our programs, our trainers' assessment determines which program a dog participates in, and programs can vary as a dog ages or life events occur.

ABOUT OUR REACTIVATE PROGRAM
The expectation that every dog must get along with other dogs and love playing with others is one of the most misleading common myths that does the greatest disservice not only to dogs, but also to their owners.
Owners feel something is wrong with their dog if they aren’t the definition of “happy go lucky” in all situations with all dogs, and traditional social daycare models have no place or programs for these dogs. But we know that the large group social model isn't ideal for many, and that even those who enjoy social group play need breaks or time away.
Every dog doesn't have to fit the social mold. There are many good reasons why many don't, and our responsibility is to meet each dog where they are, understand their reasons for being or responding as they do and then provide programs that enrich their lives and support their wellbeing.
Our reACTIVATE program incorporates our Breed Aware Care that looks to the specific behaviours and personalities each dog exhibits and then matches them with activities that fulfill their needs and which give them the best day possible.

If our trainers determine your dog is best suited for the reACTIVATE program after their first-day assessment, you would still book any daycare days just as a regular day or half-day of daycare.
WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR?
Dogs who react to others through fear-based aggression
Dogs too nervous or shy for group and who shut down in social groups
Siblings who play well together but may not do well in a group of new dogs
Intact males and females whose sexual maturity poses challenges to effective group engagement
Dogs needing quieter spaces for meical recovery
Dogs who become hyperaroused in social settings
HOW IS A DOG ENROLLED?
The reACTIVATE program is not a program you enroll your dog in, but is a program we will put your pup in based on their needs after our comprehensive first-day assessment process. If you think your dog may benefit from this program, simply sign up for an account and request your pup's Assessment - First Day of Daycare.
WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE OR FREQUENCY?
There is no set schedule or frequency for your dog to attend; however, as with all our programs, your dog will become more comfortable and confident with us through ongoing relationship building building, and this will also let us get to know your dog, their personality and what enrichment program they enjoy most.

The reACTIVATE program is the regular price of daycare. See our rates and packages.
WHEN WILL MY DOG BE COMFORTABLE WITH OTHERS?
Because each dog is so very unique, with a unique background, feelings, and experiences, and as they continue to have experiences away from our programs, there is no guarantee as to a timeline.
This is not a training or behavioural modification program, but builds on the dog’s demonstrated comfort level and response to new situations or dogs.
At any point when a dog is participating in our CLASS program, they may become better suited to our reACTIVATE program if they begin to display reactivity to others.
Our reACTIVATE program is one of our wellbeing programs for dog daycare and boarding. Our programs are designed to respect the uniqueness of your dog, to meet their needs, and to create an environment in which they can thrive.
